@black_swan74 tagged me to share what sexy is to me... it's taken me a few days to piece together my thoughts on this. It's odd... I almost didn't want to address this topic bc I feared even mentioning the word "sexy" would invite people to sexualize my practice and objectify me- an issue that unfortunately many women have to deal with too often.

...And then I realized how fucked up that is.
•
I'm sick of opening IG and seeing disrespectful and vulgar comments of unwanted come ons that make my stomach turn- "yum" "delicious" "sexy" "I'd f*ck you"... and SO much worse. Nevermind DMs men apparently think are ok. It's disgusting.

I'm sick of, even for a split second, blaming myself for those comments because society has conditioned me to think- "If I show my skin I should expect to be objectified." Why is that an ok thing to teach the young women of this world?

I'm sick of being vulnerable and trying to promote body positivity and self love, and having that used as an excuse for men to say crude or offensive things about my body or character. I'm sick of men assuming that if women show skin it's only because we want their attention or approval. But I'm DONE tolerating or accepting it.

If I've given the impression that I care what you think about my body let me clarify- I DON'T. Anyone who sexualizes my posts, hits on me, analyzes my body, or makes inappropriate comments will be blocked. This page is about my journey to finding balance in health and fitness, my path to self love and acceptance, and the artistic self expression of my practice. On that note... To me sexy isn't about the physical. Being strong makes me feel sexy. Being independent and driven makes me feel sexy. Being confident makes me feel sexy. But MOST of all standing up for what I believe in and taking a stand against body shaming, slut shaming, and rape culture makes me feel empowered and sexy!

#30daystosalute Challenge. Challenging myself to 30 days of yoga. Who's with me? I wasn't able to post yesterday but I did yoga and taught yoga. The more I practice the more I realize it's just fuckin yoga. It's simple. Yoga gets my body moving, which it should be moving. Naturally we aren't stagnant beings. Our bodies need to be in constant motion. Just like everything in the Universe, everything is in constant action. So yoga helps me get moving, which I should be doing anyways. Also, yoga centers me. I get in the NOW, which is a natural state. I should be in the NOW instead of focusing on 13,000 things. Yoga helps me get back to the present. Yoga helps me connect with Universal Intelligence, the energy, the power greater than myself, which is also a natural state. It's just me that makes everything so fuckin complicated. Yoga isn't complicated, it's Just Fuckin Yoga. Our brains are the complicated ones so yoga helps get back to that natural state of being. The NOW, to just fuckin breathe, and to keep it simple like children do 🙏🏼 #NamasteAF #itsjustfuckinyoga
