First ascent to the now called "Nalayag Monolith"
Back then we don't even know how we should call it. It all started when we saw a large rock formation almost parallel to Mt. Tilos' summit then the next thing we knew is that we've already arranged and planned to do an exploratory climb to see if this could be a new destination for thrill-seekers like us. There were no established trails and the only way to go up is to anchor and pull ourselves through roots and branches. We're very careful as well as there were lots of private farms around and of course we wouldn't want ourselves to trespass through unknown boundaries. Now a popular hiking spot, we're happy to see that the community benefits a lot from it. Let's just hope that all mountaineers and locals would be responsible enough so that we can preserve nature's precious gift to us.
