Crater Lake, yes the water is actually that blue . . .
A stop earlier on our trip and far away from the Desert landscapes we have been exploring for the last few weeks. Here are a few fun facts I read on the door of the bathroom when we were there. * It was formed by the eruption of Mount Mazama 7,700 years ago * It is the deepest lake in the USA and ninth deepest in the World at 1943 feet. * It is so clear and blue because almost all of its water comes from rain and snowfall * For unknown reasons, there is a Hemlock called the Old Man of the Lake, that has been floating upright in the lake for over a century . .
