Top Shot: Morning Glory | Photograph by Jeff Stamer

“Wildfires and rainy weather had plagued my trip to Glacier National Park,” writes Your Shot photographer Jeff Stamer. “I awoke on my last morning to more of the same. Determined to get a sunrise shot, I drove in the darkness to the edge of Two Medicine Lake and set up my tripod in the rain, and waited, and got very wet. Sunrise came and went but no sun. I was about to pack it in when about ten minutes after the ‘official’ sunrise, the clouds behind me broke and illuminated Sinopah Mountain with the bonus of a subtle rainbow.”

Tug of War with a Great White shark 🦈🦈🦈
--
@nicwilks and his dad, David, were pulling in their fishing net off Port Pirie, South Australia, when they saw the shark hanging around the boat, picking fish out of the net. As the net was closing up, the shark unfortunately got tangled up in it. David managed to safely free the shark and continue pulling in the net, but the shark came back for one last game of Tug of War.

Second up in our Instagram takeover from entomologist, @phil_torres is this bright bamboo poison dart frog. The vibrant colours warn of its toxicity to predators, but it is hardly seen in the open because, as their name suggests, they live and breed inside fallen, water-filled bamboo trees. "I’ve seen them before on this small island on the Tambopata River, so I shone my flashlight into every hollow bamboo branch I came across until I found one." It may be hard to tell but this a macro photo of the frog, because they're only about the size of a thumbnail.

Serene San Marcos, Texas—"Less than a block away from a major interstate. The San Marcos river bubbles up from underground here in this city, and the natural filtration that occurs makes for some very clean and crystal clear water. This picture was taken the morning before a major flood which uprooted most of the trees you see in this picture," says Phil Lewis, a finalist in the #WhatsYourNature photo contest. I love the rain, I love how it softens the outlines of things. The world becomes softly blurred, and I feel like I melt right into it. #Rains #Happiness #Nature #GrapeCountyResort #Nasik #BeautifulWeather #RainDrops #totalbliss

When people try to tell me Kansas isn't pretty and it's not worth visiting. I tell them to imagine everything they think is pure and whole and free. That's what an isolated road in the middle of know where with nothing but fields to see for miles feels like. It feels nice to just hear the birds and your own breath and have piece of mind that you were placed here for a reason even if that only reason is enjoying small things in life. Life will always find a way to remind you that the hard stuff is worth it. #motivation #kansas #fields #sunset #barn #nature #naturephotography #sunset🌅 #beauty #godbless #god #faith #hope #life
