This is my story, this is a goal I'm currently pursuing to make one of my dreams a reality. "My name is Jasmine N. McGhee. I'm a poet and published author of "Little Girl Blues: Existence of an Image." I've been writing poetry for 19+ years, and I'm a poetic fanatic. Also, I have 16 years experience of writing. For years, I've been searching for myself, my purpose, and my goals. I've tried to conform or settle for what everyone else expected or manipulated me to do. Now, I have a chance to follow my own path. I was recently accepted into Emerson College's Publishing and Writing grad program. There I plan to pursue a career as a Copy Editor, working in the publishing industry. I want to grow more confident in myself and my capabilities. I want to be able to give back to the writing and creative community. I want to be a beacon and inspire others to embrace their truth, their art.
I want to grow from an enlightened perspective where I can see the change in myself. Others may see, but I want to be able to see it within myself. While doing this, I also want to do a home-based editorial and writing services. In addition, I want to create a creative literary journal or magazine online/print which will help the creative/writing community be heard without the paralyzing fear of rejection - a safe haven.
Emerson is asking for a $400 nonrefundable fee that will go towards my tuition and fees. I'm sort of in a bind because I have to get my car situated due to an accident at my job where someone backed into my car causing extensive damage.
I know it's very short notice, but I'm asking for help. If you're interested in donating whatever please send it to my Paypal email is firstname.lastname@example.org or you can do paypal.me/JNMcGhee30.
If you're not able to donate anything, I ask that you continue to keep me uplifted in prayer. Also, please share this and get the word out.
For further questions or details, please DM me." Thanks, everyone! <3
