My home office today. I’m grateful.

Grateful that the hot weather has finally broken and I can sit outside with the dogs and work on nutritional therapy assessment plans for my clients.

I’ve learned a lot in the last year and a half. I’ve learned how to help people balance the foundations of health so that they have more energy. I’ve learned that a healthy gut is responsible for our immunity and our outlook on life. I’ve learned that adaptogens can help moderate stress.
.
.
Most importantly I’ve learned that I love helping people. I love discovering the root causes of health complaints like acne, headaches or food intolerances.
.
.
I’ve learned that I had to get here, at this point, by doing all the other stuff first. I had to go to law school. I had to get married. I had to live in the city. I had to have children. I had to move overseas.
.
.
None of those things were wasted. I had to do all of those things first, before I found my true passion, before I decided what I wanted to be when I grew up.
.
.
Life didn’t happen to me, it happened for me.
.
.
It’s all about perspective, isn’t it?
.
.
And from where I sit today, things look pretty good.

When you’re trying to shed pounds, fat is your friend.

Fat is satiating. It fills you up and provides constant, steady energy through the day.

The kids take up so much time and energy that everything else gets forgotten sometimes. And I’m the biggest proponent of prioritizing marriage over kids but holy crap I get worn down by the end of the day. At that point I just want to sit on the couch, watch a show and read a book.

Friday marks 15 years married, 17 years together. That’s a really long time. Really long. That’s longer than anything I’ve ever done.

Everyday I’m grateful for being married to the perfect partner. I got the better end of our deal, that’s for sure.
