HAPPY SUNDAY Y'ALL! Another educational post 😉 When I was in college and beginning to be more health conscious, I would choose salads thinking I was having a little "less" food, and was BOGGLED as to why after a few months..... I had gained more fat? This explains it 🙄🤣 Again: don't be numbers obsessed but use this to help you be more aware of areas that may be holding you back from progressing, which you thought were helping 💗. Shocked myself with this one 😂
1️⃣ Just some salads, tomatoes, and scallions, I never ever track these but here's a guesstimate, it's basically nothing, just micronutrients!
2️⃣ Added in 80g chickpeas and a small tin of Aldis tomato mackerel pieces (125g).
3️⃣ Added in 20g pine nuts and 60g avocado
4️⃣ Added 40g cheddar cheese pieces and 35ml garlic/herb dressing (can you see how calorie dense they are?!)
My advice when choosing salads, try your best to control the amount of high fat ingredients like cheeses, dressings, nuts and avocado. I always ask for dressings on the side where possible. I am a salad JUNKIE in the summer, so it's important to be aware of the little things that add up 😉
You DO NOT always have to track foods for progress, but doing it for a small period in time can be SO beneficial. I'm making you all something to help with this 🤓(STAY TUNED!)
