On Monday my little dog died. He was like my little brother. It is very hard to keep going but he was always so proud when i came back from training. When I was training handstands at home he always trained with me. He always pushed me to do more. When I stopped he started to bug me to do more, to keep going :) He knew what is right for me. I am beyond thankful that I had him in my life. I will never forget him. He will be my little brother for ever. First time back training properly since before I was sick with bronchitis. Hill sprints, pull ups and squats, all with a weighted vest on. I almost died. Three weeks without working out really takes it out of you! 😨

The trouble with social media is that junk food gets likes. That jacked guy you follow who only posts pizzas and pop tarts? Yeah that accounts for about 10-20% of his calorie intake. You only see a small window. People don't post the salads and grilled chicken because we all know that's what gets results, but you're more likely to follow someone who got ripped eating pop tarts 🙄

After yesterday's calf issues I was a little concerned about this evenings run.

There was a bit of tightness in my right calf but that did ease after a few miles although any inclines were felt a bit more.
.
I had a couple of walk breaks, something I don't usually do but I felt I needed to today.
.
The longest was about 7.5 miles in and it was nice just to walk and take it easy.
.
There are about 10 weeks to Chester Marathon and I'm definitely not there yet in terms of fitness but I'm still clinging onto my goal of sub 4 hours.
.
Something I've learned this time around us that I don't enjoy these longer miles in the summer warmth and humidity! I much preferred winter training.
.
Once Chester is done I'll be looking ahead to Windermere Marathon in May 18 and the delights of cold morning runs 👍🏻
