Our goal was just to finish but we placed 161 out of 1050 teams, running 199 miles in 27:50:55 because every single beast gave 💯+. I knew this would be an experience but I wasn't prepared for the epic feels, YG. #BeastCoastCrew 🖤.

✨ I DID IT✨ 5️⃣0️⃣miles!!!Today, Monday July 31,2017 marks my 20th day of the #MyPersonalBest. This month I focused on including 🏃🏾‍♀️ 50miles outside🌤 in additional to my regular schedules and normal training. As a @pelotoncycle instructor, I encourage my riders to finish strong, to use the 90 % effort and 10% innate ability rule, I tell them ALL the ways to keep moving forward👉🏽...well, for the last 2.5 weeks, I had to take my own advice. Running outside was not always easy- whether it was the climate ☀️ {95 degree weather 😨}, the workload, or just the stamina to keep running. I was tested each run. I had to implement these tools.... sooooo I can fondly say to others, without hesitation, that all those things I believe in, that I quote in class...they all are TRUE ✔️! Cheers to the 300+ runners that joined me in this challenge 🙌🏽! #LoveSquad has never been stronger! My August ride challenge starts tomorrow 🤷🏽‍♀️@alovesquad #Showuswhatsreal

That strength training is paying off. I did #mypersonalbest lift today with @aspca x @alexsilverfagan and the #ShapeSquad and nabbed this little 💪🐶. Snag a sneak peek of the epic FBL bodyweight workout in my instastory (and a photo of me you can’t unsee) and then head to @shape’s Facebook live for the actual workout (and the most epic up dog yoga pose you will EVER see) .

#SundayFunday 🏋🏻‍♀️ I always get asked - What’s your training schedule? Right now its simply focusing on being #MyPersonalBest! I spent years focusing on being good at lifting (yawn 😜) but as I’ve gotten older Im more concerned with being a better MOVER in general. 🙌🏻 Thankful for rad friends in my life like @leadersofmovement who push me to try new things & challenge me to move in different ways.

NEW MOVES TO TRY:
1️⃣Straight Leg Hurdles (focus on keeping upper body stable), 5 front, 5 reverse
2️⃣Wall Forearm Squat (Deceivingly hard!), 5 reps
3️⃣Wall Bridge Walk, 5 reps
4️⃣Funky T (Feels sooo good after the wall walks!), 6 each side
5️⃣Divebomber Plus, 8 reps

These moves are no where near perfect but that’s all part of the learning process babes! Nothing great ever happens by staying in your comfort zones! Give these a try and tag me!

DEADLIFT! Scary sounding exercise eh, fret not...We're here to give you a quick and easy 5 step checklist to perform a deadlift, I know it says perfect deadlift - but that happens with practice and always checking your form.

Let's get to it!

1) Walk to the bar. Stand with your mid-foot under the bar. Your shins shouldn’t touch it yet. Put your heels hip-width apart, narrower than on Squats. Point your toes out 15°. 2) Grab the bar. Bend over without bending your legs. Grip the bar narrow, about shoulder-width apart like on the Overhead Press. Your arms must be vertical when looking from the front.

3)Bend your knees. Drop into position by bending your knees until your shins touch the bar. Do NOT let the bar move away from your mid-foot. If it moves, start from scratch with step one.

4) Lift your chest. Straighten your back by raising you chest. Do not change your position – keep the bar over your mid-foot, your shins against the bar, and your hips where they are.

5) Pull. Take a big breath, hold it and stand up with the weight. Keep the bar in contact with your legs while you pull. Don’t shrug or lean back at the top. Lock your hips and knees.

#7daysofgratitude This may be weird to some but a couple of days ago @jenwiderstrom posted a love letter that she wrote to her back and shoulder muscles. It was amazing and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Today I’m following her advice.
Dear legs,
As long as I can remember you have been in pain. Broken bone from accident at school, broken again from a bad car accident and lots of injuries from soccer, sports, cheerleading and me just being a klutz. And recently we’ve discovered that you’re filled with sarcoidosis lesions that are damaging you. I promise you that I will no longer get angry with you when you’re hurting. Because despite all your pain, I am able to do tough workouts and take my pups on relaxing walks. Because of you I played soccer and I was good and that helped me to be a great soccer coach and positively effect lots of young girls lives. Because of you I can stroll on the beach with my husband and put my toes in sand. In the end, despite being diseased you’re strong, resilient and you make me, me. Thank you. 🙏🏻💖

LENGTH & STRENGTH

These 2 words were repeated multiple times as I began my new journey this morning. I said goodbye to high intensity weight lifting and 🖐HELLO🖐 to low impact, body weight movements.

I was super bummed to stop my current program, but as someone who talks about health and fitness as a 💥PRIORITY💥, I knew I had to walk the walk and do what was best for my back right now.

#Longread alert: In the year I’ve been practicing yoga it’s crazy how much my life has changed. Maybe not from the outside: hi same great job, husband, apartment, friends, and penchant for life essentials like travel, cinnamon tea, sneakers, nerd books, rosé, and randomly bursting into song. But inside? Feels pretty radical in here, guys. And of course it’s not just yoga—I’ve been pushing outside my comfort zone with therapy, Hood to Coast, self care, ~all~ the fitness classes, even the leather leggings I 🖤 but would never have been brave enough to rock before. But yoga has been a steady beat pushing me to expand, expand, expand. So it was fortuitous timing to commit to 40 days of asana, meditation, journaling, connection, and community last month. I’m proud to be a part of the squad at @lyonsdenpy who supported each other through the sweat (Jesus so much sweat) and discovery and transformation. And I realized that my 2017 has been *all* about discovery—of what I’m really capable of and who I can be when I ditch my fear. (Or try, at least. Sorry still hate horror movies.) And now in a time when—more than ever—women need to claim their power, bringing that inner transformation outward and being true, and authentic, and powerful as f*ck feels exactly right. So this is me. In a slightly wonky wheel pose, lit up with the power of exercise and the power of community and the power of feeling your feels and the power of crushing your goals. ✊🙏🤟 #40daysattheden #MyPersonalBest #ShapeSquad #yogaeverydamnday #transformation #dothework
