Today is the birthday of the woman I’ve always wanted to imitate.
As children we need our mothers, but I’ve found that as an adult I’ve needed her more often.
She was the first person I called when I found out that my pregnancy ended in miscarriage. She was the first person (besides Ryan) when I was pregnant again. She was there by my side when I delivered both of my children. She let my kids and I move into her home when Ryan and I had our tough years. She then welcomed Ryan to live in her home while we saved for a new house.
She was in the car with me when I found out about Ryan’s accident. She comforted me, she drove me home, she stayed close to me, she cried with me.
She offers to take my kids for me when I’m not feeling well. She still asks what I want for Christmas each year.
It doesn’t matter how old I am, she is still here for me, and I still want to imitate her.
🎉Happy birthday, Mom! ❤️
