Towering at 110 meters high, Dune du Pilat is the largest sand dune in Europe. It’s steeps sand goes straight down to the Atlantic Ocean and if you’re brave enough to run down it, you can find stretches of empty beach even in the height of summer. But here's a little tip: you don't have to feel the burn in your calves climbing back up and over. Instead, walk down the beach to La Coorniche and use the stairs to climb back up. You can then take a path through the forest to reach the parking area of the Dune.
