I couldn’t decide which one I liked best so you get two photos from me today!
Had the best time in Italy with my kiddos and my parents. It rained, no poured for the entire time (you may have seen the news 😢) but we still managed to have a lovely little break away and I think it helped my relationship with this one a lot.
We were so close when I was home edding her and now I think, although she’s very happy at her new school, she does resent me somewhat for not wanting to carry on. Or maybe resent is the wrong word. She just doesn’t understand why I didn’t want to spend all day in the woods at forest school or painting all day. And so she’s been sad and a bit angry with me and I’ve felt guilty and a bit defensive.
Thankfully, over the days (and several teeny pastries!) we have managed to reconnect and be loving again. We ate delicious pizza, carved pumpkins, took the ferry across the lake and went shopping and read books. Plus I got a much needed day to myself when my parents took them to a museum.
We also got to visit our favourite cafe, this is the sweetest place with so many pastries and the best hot chocolate in Winter! FYI if you want a U.K. style latte in Italy, order a latte macchiato, I kept getting an espresso with a spoonful of foam until I realised! 😝 (Follow @mammaprada for more Italy tips & gorgeous photos!) My bag was the most perfect gift from @yoshibags who didn’t ask me to post it but I couldn’t not share, the perfect gift for a book lover like me, it looks like you could just walk in! 😃
