STORY TIME: 8 months ago I ended my formal education career and moved on up to the adult career world. I moved back to my hometown and felt incredibly lost and sad to be leaving my friends and a city I thought I was going to call home. I was at a loss of how to find myself in this new chapter of my life. For two months I cried and pined over being with my friends at school. I had lost 15 pounds due to horrible acid reflux that I could not get control of, my clothes beginning to fall off me.
6 months ago today, I took a shot and walked into #GSRFIT. I was incredibly intimidated and nervous about trying out crossfit. I had only recently gotten into lifting and was very nervous I would have no idea what i was doing and make a fool of myself. And boy was I right. I still walk in to this gym and somehow make a fool of myself every day, but in the best way possible. As soon as I walked in, I knew I wouldn't be walking out. I was immediately greeted by our fearless leader with nothing but a huge smile on his face, excited to show off his gym and everything it had to offer. Over the past six months I've put on 8 pounds, completed lifts like snatches, thrusters, clean & jerks, split jerks and improved my back squat, front squat and push-ups. I've added weight I never thought I'd lift before. Every single person is there to motivate and inspire one another. No one is done until the last person is finished. #GSRFIT helped me find my place in #binghamton. I'm happier, healthier and couldn't be more thankful for the 6 months I've been able to grow here.
To help me track my progress I created a fitness account, @muscle_hangover, where I consistently post me making a fool of myself, improving and taking the advice or my coaches. So here's to another six months of improvement and working out with some of the coolest people in know 💪🏼🏋🏽♀️🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 #crossfit #crossfitgirls #fithappens #gsrcrossfit #gsrfit #binghamton #myfamily #happyhappyhappy #squat
