I’ve said all the words you wanted to hear but then I ran out of things to say.
I searched for other words to say but I could not find anything that you would have believed.
So we just sat silently searching for memories to fill the silence that witnessed our souls walk away from each other. We were fading into the nothingness we came for, taking with us only words that no longer carried any meanings.
You drank your coffee and looked at me; and I saw the yearning in your eyes, I saw the fear of letting go, I saw all that had brought us this far.
So I took the last sip of my coffee, got up, helped you put your coat on, put my arms around you, as we walked out, together, into the cold London night. - A London minute
