One year since my ACL/MCL/Meniscus reconstruction. Reminder of all that swelling! My surgeon did a great job ~ still not running or box jumping and staying clear of burpees but I'll get there. 46 year old knees take time ๐Ÿ˜œ plus it was no cakewalk surgery or recovery. My therapist did a great job on scar tissue with lots of rolling, cupping and human torture but they look great on the outside and no scar tissue restrictions on the inside. The only thing is, I still have some tendinitis issues (comes with the territory of having 2 knee surgeries and rushing the rehab stage too fast. It bothers from time to time but I've been bucking down to what I need to start working on. My main focus for the next few weeks before the next game will be hamstrings, gluts, and my IT band. Pt struggles....I think I still cave my knees in a bit setting up to step down or if I jump unevenly (which I totally did on the first jump down). I think I've nailed correcting jumping backward for climbing. I've always been pretty bad at jumping and leaping. So I'm excited to see improvement (not sure where the spider man type landing came from ๐Ÿ˜‚) and I see areas to improve. Like trusting a big step down and working on uneven landings. Disclaimer....you know...cause ego...I did this after a cardio workout and I was already pretty damn tired. My lovely pt said to watch out especially now when I'm tired for bad form. These exercises are just done of the things I'm working on right now. Not caving my knees in, landing evenly, and working on power in my left leg. I actually am super happy with how things looked in the video when I was already tired, if anything I still favor my left (surgery leg ๐Ÿค”). I think I've always caved my knees and growing up I barely ever jumped or hopped because I was so damn bad at it. I'm having a ton of fun working on this stuff! I'm also doing heavy weight training twice a week and absolutely love it. Recovery now is actually fun ๐Ÿ˜‚. My pt paid me the ultimate compliment of telling me my legs were stronger now then before my injury! ๐Ÿ’ช September will be month 9 for me and I may try some light bouldering with small falls!!! Let me tell you nothing fixes your form for headstands like concrete. Holy moly. For #shapeupyourinversions day 3 was L-shape. Looks easy from my pic but ๐Ÿ˜ณwhat a good ab workout. Day 4 was #eaglepose in a #inversion. I have a hard time holding things still past the tipping point. I need to work on back flexibility and strength and dem abs. So I barely made into eagle..๐Ÿ˜‚ oh and the last picture is just hilarious because I fell out of the pose and rolled up and it was awesome because I didn't even give my knee a second thought.
