@ratu_aini22 received her year level leader badge today. She is the only one donning hijab in school but what she wears never stops her from achieving her dreams. We were beaming proud parents today when her name was being called out
There is no discrimination at her school. Everyone both students and teachers respects every religion and race. It doesnt matter whether your skin is white or brown. Her teachers love her the same as any other students. She never gets second level treatment. She was never being treated differently..most importantly she have been given the rights to practice her religion FREELY.
My panel arrived safely in Australia and the new blog post is up! It includes a turkey work video and part one of an interview I did for the #udhrquiltproject * If you're new here (hello 👋🏼) this project is a collaboration with 120+ artists from around the globe. The goal is to celebrate human rights and draw attention to their violation. The UN drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights back in 1948 to establish a common standard for all people and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected. It's been translated into 500 languages and you can read the original document at www.un.org * The UDHR Quilt Project is led by @talfitzpatrick and @illuminatembroidery * The project will culminate in the creation, promotion and exhibition of four quilts: each is made of 30 panels; one for each of the articles. * I have #article11 which outlines the right to presumed innocence. Read the blog post (link in bio) for a glimpse at the story behind this one. * Explore the #udhr hashtag and please share this post or anything anything ANYTHING from any of the other artists; protect and advocate for fundamental human rights!
