Pioneer of the #musiqueconcrete genre, Mr. Pierre Henry passed away yesterday. Starting in the 1940's, along with his lifetime collaborator Pierre Schaeffer, he used field recordings, locked grooves and tape loops to formulate the earliest methods in sampling.

Finally churning out some work from yesteryear that ought have had a run out much earlier. These pieces were produced back in 2013 virtually entirely from field recordings taken as part of Creative Scotland funded project "how long is a piece of green", the brainchild of Alice Ladenburg.
