🍴Home Made Grain Free Granola🍴 ✅1 Cup Almonds
✅1 Cup Cashews
✅1/2 Cup Pecans
✅1/8 Cup Sunflower Seeds
✅1/8 Pumpkin seeds
✅1/8 Cup Raisins
✅1.5 Tbsp Honey
✅1/4 Cup Dessicated coconut (We make double the ingredients above but it may be best to start with half as it does make a fair few servings)
HOW TO:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and place on a baking tray in the oven for 10-15 minutes turning occasionally on 150 degrees C.

When roasted to your liking, leave to cool and place in an airtight jar.

NOTE:
As the granola is basically nuts and seeds, it contains a good amount of protein but also a high amount of fat so a serving of 20-30 grams may not look like much but the calories can add up. Just be mindful of how much you're eating for the rest of the day so you don't go overboard with your fat intake.
Even though I'm prepping for a competition, I do make sure I save some calories for this after my dinner.

Today was a bit of a mental battle and there was sweat and tears at the gym - but thankfully no blood 😂.
I'm having one of those days where I feel my progress just isn't where it should be even though I'm working my ass off with training and nutrition and giving all that I can this prep.
I know it takes time and patience but sometimes you just get caught up in everything and your emotions go a bit crazy - I guess it's inevitable.
Even though the last place I wanted to be this morning was the gym, I got dressed and went anyway as I'm not a quitter.
No matter how hard it gets, you have to keep pushing through and give your all. No matter how you're feeling, you have to get up and show up. Quitting won't get you any closer to your dreams and these are the days that make us stronger.
Here's to a brand new day tomorrow with new focus and determination.

HEALTHY EGG 'MAYO' WRAP

I love a good egg mayo sandwich or wrap so I'm soooo happy I've found a healthy alternative to making it without actual mayonnaise which is highly processed and full of hydrogenated oils, sugar and who knows what else.
Sometimes I make it with mashed avocado but my latest experiment was with cottage cheese as I wanted a lower fat option being in my last 4 weeks of prep. Cottage cheese is low in carbs and fat and gives me an extra boost of protein...plus it tastes just as good as the real thing (without the guilt)

About last night...
Hubby cooked this delicious meal of grass fed beef, sweet potato fries grilled with coconut oil and a mix of mangetout and brocolli.
I haven't had steak for sooo long and although I do always feel bad for eating it (poor cows), it was super tasty.

As my calories are pretty low in the week, I like to have a refeed day on a Friday every week or two depending on how my body is progressing which is an increase of around 30% of my current daily calories. I try to keep protein and Fats the same and get the extra cals from carbs which is always a good day 😍

My competition prep journey so far...8 weeks in and 4 to go.

Progress takes time. You're not going to see changes overnight and it's going to be a tough journey mentally and physically but if you put the work in, you WILL see results.

The scale will be your best friend and then it will be your worst enemy so don't focus on it too much if you're on a journey to lose fat. Take measurements and photos to record your progress and stick at it through the tough times.

Fuel your body with proper food, workout frequently and treat your body like the amazing machine that it is to become the best version of yourself.

Use others as motivation but dont ever compare yourself to someone else. We're all unique. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses and we're all at different stages on our journey to our own personal goals.

Love yourself. Look after yourself and go smash those goals you set out to accomplish!

♉Seated row
♉Single arm pull down supersetted with DB biceps curl
♉Stiff arm pull down into row supersetted with cable biceps curl
♉Barbell bent over row
♉Rear delt cable cross over
✳️3 x 12-15 of each exercise with drop sets on the last set of some for 6-8 reps.✳️
I also added some core exercises as a superset for the single back exercises🔥
