No amount of stretching or deep tissue massage was able to improve Nerissa’s range of motion in her left shoulder joint...
▫️
This limitation was having a negative effect on her squats (couldn’t get her elbow under the bar) and her dumbbell shoulder press (couldn’t keep her elbow under her wrist).
▫️
After manual muscle testing all her shoulder external rotator muscles, we found every one of them to be inhibited; no wonder she had a huge limitation in mobility!
▫️
After just 2 MAT sessions we’ve restored stability back into all her external rotator muscles and she can now achieve way more range of motion than before. More importantly, she’s now strong and stable in this new range which has improved her squatting and shoulder press techniques massively.
▫️
She now has some homework to do to work on strengthening those muscles up which will help her achieve the last few degrees of motion needed to match her right side. 1-2 weeks should do it! 💪😎

📸 2- He then tested and addressed all the muscles responsible for hip flexion in order to Correct the imbalance. .
📸 3- To increase the work capacity of those hip flexors, Coach Kirk then Progressed Olivia with a series of exercises to reinforce the reactivated neuromuscular communication.
