👉That’s a lot of information considering that we’re not even moving. Whilst in motion that number increases exponentially and one of the jobs of the cerebellum is to take this barrage of signals and modulate them so that appropriate muscle recruitment and control occurs

✅Fun fact: It has been shown in female Ballet dancers, when compared to female rowers of comparable age and fitness, that dancers’ brains have adapted to dealing with the onslaught of vestibular signals. It would appear that through years of training and practice, the pirouette (spinning) motion becomes a hard wired and pre-programmed movement pattern!

About seven years ago (man... just saying that made me feel old), I was a competitive recreational endurance trail runner. Back then, there was nothing that compared to the thrills and highs of running 10+ miles through the woods and crushing the hill sprints and my opponents

During one of my training sessions, I tripped over a root and messed up my knee pretty bad it was bad enough that I couldn’t do any sort of squatting, lunging or even run.

Nothing I was doing was helping and it was getting worst. Eventfully, It was so bad that I had to go to physical therapy and after a few sessions, my knee was healed and feeling a lot better.
This exercise is called the RNT lunge. Reactive Neurological Training (RNT) is a corrective strategy/exercise that greatly improvements overall movement quality patterning, and strengths the muscles all at once. Essentially you want to “feed the mistake”. To do this, you want to:
1️⃣ Attached a band to a column and wrap around your knee.
2️⃣ take a few step out letting the band pull your knee inwards.
3️⃣ Perform a stationary lunge (split squat) without your knee caving inwards.
The RNT lunge actually works to quickly and effectively improve dysfunction and/or painful movement patterns.

Booty gains for hump day!? Maybe we can improve your current glute extension exercises by decreasing spinal motion and creating a few anchors to allow you to work into extension with less juggle. Also, positioning the resistence so it's actually possible to finish it without launching the motion.

Exercise is a process of micro-progressions. If you try to progress too fast, your body can produce a negative adaptation.

We often use the callus vs. blister analogy to depict this idea. For example, if you have to dig a hole with a shovel in your yard and you haven’t done anything related to that stress on your hands for a while, there’s a good chance you may develop a blister after spending several hours doing that.
