With it being #nationalfragranceday today it got me thinking what are some scents that I just absolutely love or that bring back beautiful memories for me. Or not even specific memories even moreso feelings/energies associated with my memories of that scent.
Two that stand out for me are first Lavender. I don’t quite know why but it’s instantly calming for me when I smell it. Here is a picture of my Lavender plant that I love to walk by and inhale. I close my eyes, breathe in deep and I instantly feel Zeennnnn 🤗 I literally feel my body relaxing and my mind calming 💜 I honestly go to such a happy place.
The next scent I chose to highlight is Murphy oil (I know! Odd! But hear me out..) It is basically a cleaning scent! A l lemon and very light pine mix. This scent brings me back to my childhood. Did you know that out of our 5 senses, our sense of smell is most closely related to memory.
My mom is a pianist. Music filled my house growing up everyday. Mostly classical and church music. Although I took it for granted then, I realize how soothing and calming it was to hear that often as a child. Murphy’s oil was always in our house, used to clean my Mom’s beloved piano she still has to this day. I remember Many many Saturdays wiping down her piano with this cleaner. It is all inter connected for me. Brings back all the feelings associated with it whenever I smell and clean with it today. Childhood, music, family, love, joy, peace....💛 #scentmemories #senses #memories #association #lavender #murphyoilsoap
