Launching ELMHURST LITERARY MURAL Saturday, September 16, 2017
Artists: Anthony Andújar (Dominican / Puerto Rico), Diego Castillo (Dominican Republic), Laura Girón (Colombia), Stephanie Jiménez (Colombia), Santiago Lenis (Colombia), Natasha Ocoro (Colombia), Miriam Rodríguez Sadova (Kazakhstan), Andley Tyson (Jamaica) and Fei Yin (China). The selected artists were part of a call made in late October 2016.
The books considered for this project were: “The Catcher in the Rye”, by J.D. Salinger, “The Invisible City”, by Pete Hamill, “The Anthem”, by Sonia Sanchez, “Latin Moon in Manhattan”, by Jaime Manrique and “Spiks” by Pedro Juan Soto.
