This is the first in a new series of Mural Monday posts. My goal is to provide background and insight on some of the dozens of murals that beautify the buildings and underpasses along our corridor.
This first mural covers the south facing wall of the MyPetCarnivore.com building in Fountain Square. It was designed by co-owner Suzanne Dijak-Robinson, and painted in the spring of 2016, by former Veloworks employee, Levi Jamison. The mural depicts alien cats and dogs abducting the farm animals that MPC uses in their quality, raw pet food.
Owners Paul and Suzanne have lived in the neighborhood since 2002. In 2010, they bought the fledgling company and in 2013, moved the headquarters to its current location at 1402 Shelby Street. Since 2010, they have grown to 12 employees; they also house the non-profit radio station 91.9 WITT. “We are committed to the fact that dogs, cats and ferrets are carnivores and should be fed food that their bodies were designed to eat. That is a raw meat, bone, and organ diet. We believe that raw-fed pets are the happiest, healthiest pets. In addition, we believe that feeding dogs, cats and ferrets as carnivores is cost effective and promotes pet longevity.” – Suzanne, President of MyPetCarnivore.com
MPC has over eighty frozen products that are sold directly to consumers through their website. They deliver to their large Midwest customer base using freezer trucks, but also sell and ship to 48 states via FedEx.
