HOW TO HELP YOUR FUSSY EATER 1
Of all the questions I get in my dm, I think this tops the chart.
Before you get worked up about your baby's eating habit, you need to take this steps patiently.
1. UNDERSTAND: you need to find out what is putting them off. There are lot of factors at play. Might be food anxiety, textures,chewing and swallowing issues. It might be organic e.g constipation, tongue ties, reflux/ gagging issues, or some medical condition you are yet to discover (I recently witnessed a case of the last. .
Pay attention, (keep a journal if you need to) find the root cause.
Not every fussy eating is behavioral. .
2. MAKE A CHANGE:
when you have discovered the root cause, make a change.
Texture - try different textures and stick with the accepted one and work from there.
Taste - we all experience taste differently but some babies are supertasters. Find a way to balance bitter with sweet tastes. Use sauces, disguise with herbs, spices and sweetness like dates.
