A fun afternoon at the Trident BKC Hotel where a bunch of us food lovers got together to celebrate #PulaoBiryaniDay which is a part of a movement Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal has started to celebrate Indian dishes on social media using hash tags so that it's not all about pancake and avocado days out there.
Starring in our lunch were 12 pulaos and biryanis from across the length and breadth of the country including those from Kashmir, Rajasthan, the West and southern coast, Bengal and Lucknow, which Chef Ashish Bhasin and his team of chefs had prepared for us along with curries, raita and papars.
I took a fork of each for the sake of portion control and then more in some cases and had all 12 while I caught up with friends over laughter and chatter on a wet Mumbai Sunday afternoon.
A dream Sunday lunch for a rice loving Bengali or bheto Bangali which is best followed up by a bhaat ghoom or nap.
