Last week at @fosterdogs #RescuerHappyHour I lost count of the number of people who asked me, “so do you foster?” and “how many dogs do you have?” Those crazy dog people actually thought that because I post so many dogs, I must be fostering a bunch of pups! The real answer is that due to housing restrictions, I have ZERO FOSTERS and ZERO DOGS 😭😪😔.
I started volunteering with @muddypawsrescuenyc in February 2016 at occasional adoption events just so I could play with all the pups. Eventually I joined as a foster team member, because that meant I could be an official foster dog stalker... (if you’re paired with me as your #FosterBuddy — you already know that I will constantly try to invite myself over to snuggle your foster pup! 🤣💁🏻♀️).
Until I can officially start fostering, I just go where the dogs go... whether that’s early morning/late night transports, volunteering at events, talking with coworkers about dogs and fostering 24/7, peering at dogs through the fence at dog parks (not creepy at all, btw), or even just IG-stalking all my foster heroes. 💕 On most days, that cures my dog fix.
Then on some days, I’m lucky to start my day with dog kisses from handsome pibbles. ❤️❤️❤️
