To those who put down and call e-MTBers : stop being a dick. Stop putting other people down. Enjoy riding your bike and focus on improving YOUR fitness. It’s nothing to do with you if someone rides an e-bike.
You see the comments all the time : “You’re a cheat” “You are lazy” “You are taking the easy route” “You’re a wimp”
When I asked for MTB photos for my page a few weeks ago, Richard Molloy commented with the photo here asking ‘Do emtb’s count? I have leg problems, [my e-bike] means I can have just as much fun as everyone else, without holding people up when I’m out with friends’
One thing that really winds me up is when I see comments slating people who ride e-bikes. I think they are getting more and more accepted, but you still get the same bull 💩 comments calling e-bike riders fat/lazy/weak.
E-bikes mean people like Richard can enjoy riding just as much as the rest of us. If not, he’d be sat at home and couldn’t enjoy the amazing sport we all enjoy.
They mean you can enjoy more downhills, in less time.
They mean more and more money gets pumped into the MTB industry, which means better equipment and bikes for everyone.
They make MTBing more accessible for EVERYONE.
Just because someone LOOKS like they are ok...doesn’t mean you know what’s going on underneath. They might have a heart issue. Or lung issue. Or are bouncing back from cancer. Or have issues with their legs. Or...they might just WANT to ride an e-bike.
E-MTBers, I welcome you with open arms and I know most of the mountain bike world does too ❤️. Ignore the hate - people like to complain. #fuckthehaters #mtblife
