I hiked Mt Roland today!!! All the way to the highest peak!! Not some of the way, not half way, ALL THE FRIKKIN WAY!
20km and 6 hours return - I'm a fucking rockstar!
Through mud, slush, over rocks, wood & boulders, I reached the top and was in total awe of the beautiful view.
I fell twice, thought I'd twisted my ankle and thought "shit how will I get back down" but only a minor roll, I quickly recovered and kept on putting one foot in front of the other.
I came down from that peak, stepped back onto solid ground and stopped because for that moment I stood, all there was was me, Mt Roland and silence. I literally listened to complete silence and it was the most peaceful calming thing I'd ever heard!
I have muddy scuffed ankles, mozzy bites, tired legs and back, slightly sunburnt chest and neck but I would totally do it all again!
All of this may not have been possible had it of not been for two friends walking along beside me... and some prior arrangements... but what the heck else would I of done today?? Photo's do not do it any justice whatsoever, you seriously have to experience it for yourself!! ...right, where to next??
