south side serpents
the serpents have been in my life for almost as long as I can remember, I think that’s actually how my parents met each other; in a way the gang has always been a second family for me, they accepted me from the day I was born as one of them. dad wasn’t ever very open about it all when I was younger, if anything he was secretive, nowadays I can see why, they aren’t exactly the most child friendly group especially when you get into the heart of all of it. starting around the eighth grade I was sorta permitted into the gang, I was told stuff, not everything but still it felt like I was apart of something, probably the same feeling archie feels when he bashes into others with that football team, fuck him. the serpents didn’t have much of a presence around the school, probably because we were in north side; still there was maybe a few other students who assigned themselves to the snake; I guess that’s why I was excited to get to go to south side, but i guess it wasn’t anything that I imagined, just because a bunch of low income kids came together for a school didn’t mean they stuck together at all, if anything it was far more violent then north side. when I moved over there so did my alliances, I stopped hanging around all those north siders for the most part, I became a real member of the gang, I filled in for my dad while he was serving. but my south side high days are over, back to hell, with every teacher in the building ready to attack.
