PLAYING IN THE WATER WITH HAND BALANCES. I usually never get my heavy bum off the ground in this pose so the water certainly helped 😁
Playing in the water felt great as my left leg is after getting sore from driving a heavy van around the Slovenian Alps for a week now - haven't been driving on the right side for a while and muscles you don't use as frequently can react faster to movement changes with soreness.
Glad I found a glacier lake in the middle of the Alps where I can jump in day and night with the stars reflecting on the dark lake for my night swims.

Today started fantastically with me falling in the shower because I was so dizzy...luckily Mr G was there to help and I wasn't hurt too badly. Typical me. After cancelling work and resting most of the day I rolled my mat out for some lovely, yummy yin yoga. (Stayed close to the ground! 😂) Even when I really don't feel like it my mind, body and soul thanks me for rolling out my mat....and everyone around me!

I first want to give a huge shoutout & congrats to Julian for getting signed yesterday with the @atlantafalcons . Julian is one of the hardest working most dedicated athletes I’ve ever worked with. A true blessing for this young man & all his family & friends. Really excited to see Julian use his God-given talent as he crushes it with the Falcons. On a side note this will be the first Atlanta Falcons player I’ve worked with which is ironic given I’m located in Atlanta and have worked with NFL guys from just about every team except the falcons. Hopefully we can get more of our own guys coming through. Congrats again Julian!!!! For this exercise, Julian performs a controlled eccentric isometric pushup then after a 2 sec hold (which creates increased neural potentiation & motor unit recruitment), I take the plate off his back allowing him to explode up with max power. Besides increasing power on the concentric, it’s also a great way to combine an explosive movement with a hypertrophy-inducing stimulus as eccentric overload is phenomenal for enhancing functional strength & hypertrophy not to mention injury prevention.
Essentially we’re tricking the body by hyper-activating the CNS with the eccentric ultimately making the concentric feel that much lighter. Another benefit is that this hyper-activation & increased neural drive transfers exceptionally well into the catch/landing phase where the lifter has to decelerate their body & absorb the impact of the catch.
The extra load on the back also wakes up the core & spinal stabilizers reinforcing the idea of keeping the core tight & locked in on the catch phase which is where most lifters struggle with excessive lumbar extension.
