I had all the butterflies before we told the sweetest eight year old he’s going to be a big brother! ⁣

How was he going to react, what was he going to say, would we have the right answers, was he going to understand, would he be excited??!? So many unknown thoughts... ⁣

We set up a scavenger hunt through out the house and he had to figure out the clues! He ran all over the place, outside, inside, backyard, upstairs, back outside! And when he figured it out we saw the biggest blushing smile. It was amazing!! ⁣

Yes, he asked all the questions... like where do babies come from 🙈🙈and who’s belly is the baby in? His interest and engagement was mind blowing. I’m so amazed at how this child loves on us. ⁣

You know you’ve done something right when he wakes up the next morning and says “How’s the baby, I think it grew, I hope the baby likes what’s for breakfast!” In one sentence 😂🤣 ⁣

I can’t even with this kid. I hope he knows how loved he is. 💙

The beach is my happy place 💙
⠀⠀ I used to be in the cycle of “this spring break I’m going to have my best body,” “this summer I’m going to look my best in my bathing suit.” ⠀⠀
Always going from one deadline to another, focusing on looks and my body, making it so easy to fall for extremes, waiting until I “had the body” for balance. They *look* confident, so we assume they know what they’re doing and we sorta envy them.

BUT GUESS WHAT?

People do this all the time, even when they don’t know shit! 😂

Imma tell you a secret. What I’ve learned from working at SO freaking many high-profile events, festivals etc., is that if you show up and pretend you know wtf you’re doing, people won’t really question you 🤪

The same goes for the gym. You don’t need to know everything about working out to come off as confident 🤫

My #1 tip for clients is…put on your headphones, listen to a BOMB playlist, tune out the world, and do your fucking thing.

Remember to roll them shoulders back and stick your chest out. Even if you’re 100% clueless, rock it! I do it all the time! 😅

People always tell me I appear SO confident on social media and in person, but I swear, half of the time, I don’t even know what I’m doing 😜. And if I fail (which I do a lot), I smile and treat it as a learning opportunity!!

Bad Exercises For Those Over 50?

🎉 There is a new media post going around about some excellent exercises being bad for people to do because of an arbitrary age measure. .
🙈Be careful who you follow information from, this is true for the news, social media, etc. We all need to be skeptical and critical of what’s being told as everyone has inherent bias and beliefs that sculpt the story told - even if these are unknown to the teller.

🌈 Don’t let age define what you do. Humans are amazing and adaptable and can shift to surpassing many things told are not achievable. We have such a breadth of research showing the benefits of exercise - especially resistance training - as people age and no strong evidence that any exercise is a negative, it just may not be the most appropriate at a certain time and need to be modified.

🍻 You’ve got this people! Get out there, go do something active and enjoy yourself - don’t be limited by arbitrary advice based on poor science.
