It seems as though before we can finish mourning the loss of one pop star, another falls...
It is always devastating news when someone we know dies. Even when that someone is a superstar. Beyond the impact they had on our lives with their music, their words, their acting, beyond the way they made us feel at some point, beyond all those moments when we could relate or really felt close to them, there are souls. And sometimes, beautiful souls. Their celebrity was sometimes brief, sometimes it was felt for decades. When a celebrity dies young, not only are we sad to see a life end so soon, but we are somewhat haunted by the life and career that could have been. If many celebrities are mega stars in what they do, they sadly become icons in death. When I look back at all the world talents whose lives ended unexpectedly, I wonder: is being a superstar incompatible with a long, happy life?
Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, was only 28. He was a genius and his talent and work impacted people from all ages, from children to seniors. What most of us may not know is that the young man had had several health issues in the past due to his lifestyle and had retired from live performing in 2016. Last year, we could read on his website " We all reach a point in our lives and careers where we understand what matters the most to us". It is so sad that though he discovered that early in his life, he did not get to live what mattered the most to him. Today, I can't help but think of his mother, his family. Because, after all, they lost the most precious thing on earth - their child. 💔
