What’s this?? It’s just one of the tools our #MosquitoSurveillance team uses to ID and separate #mosquitoes before they’re sent to the lab to be tested for #WestNile and other diseases. You can look through this microscope and find out more about how our #EnvironmentalHealth division impacts the lives of Southern Nevadans during the 2nd Annual Environmental Health Expo today 10:30a to 3:30p at our 280 S. Decatur Blvd. #publichealth center.
Following community engagement and participation with the World Mosquito Program's project in #Kiribati, the local team has been releasing mosquitoes with Wolbachia in #Betio.
And in #Tarawa, community groups are getting involved by growing and releasing their own mosquitoes with Wolbachia, to help protect their communities from dengue, chikungunya & Zika viruses. We're so grateful to have their support!
