225kg x1 from last week vs 235kg x1 from today (both @8.5 I'll say).
Rebuilduing my deadlift, after 2 weeks off competition lifts (which clearly affected my strength).
If you don't include singles to your training here are some reasons to do so:
- first it's a benchmark (to quote Mike Tuchsherer) that allow u to track your progress and gives you a trend of where you are on your training.
- it can help you set your back off sets, by using a percentage of that single to get the necessary volume in.
- it's an opportunity to practice doing single, which is specific to the sport of powerlifting. - also, it makes your training more fun and motivating, bcz it's all about lifting heavy weights, right?!
BTW, it doesn't have to be a maximal effort single. Most of the time, a single @ RPE 8 is heavy enough to not fry your CNS and get the benefits from it. What do u think? Do you include singles to your training?

Back on track

After 2,5 months not training due to an injury to my shoulder. I have finally got back into training again. I had the go ahead to train about 2 weeks ago from my fysio but I felt the struggles of getting back into training. I was constantly making excuses of not to train and also eating very bad.
Results are that I have massively dropped in muscle mass and gained fat free mass, keeping almost the same weight but the mirror tells a very different story. We all fall back sometimes and it’s normal we are human. You just need to get back to it and stay consistent.

Expect problems and eat them for breakfast ! ☢︎☣︎♼
