I started this fitness journey cause I wasn't happy with how I looked, I had no idea fitness would give me so much more than that πŸ™πŸ™ The left photo was taken when I was 4 months into recovery and learning how to 'be' in the world πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€”.. I was 29 but felt like I was 15 again- it was awful 😫. I can honestly say- I HATED the person I was.. I believed I was no good and hopeless. I started @kayla_itsines #bbg guides in Aug 2015 and the left photo I took right after one of the circuits... Initially I thought I'd see progress straight away πŸ™‹πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜¬- Then I realised I'm doing this the 'healthy' way and it's gonna take timeeeeeee... Anyway, 18 months down the track and I still struggle with the time thing!!! The last 3 days I've spent with no energy, no appetite and a feeling of hopelessness πŸ˜πŸ˜• I have no idea what's wrong, BUT, I will just get back up and start again when I'm better πŸ™‹πŸ’ƒβ€ These days I don't only train for my body- these days, I also train for my mind πŸ™πŸ˜‡... Anyway, hope you kids have a great day- I actually can't wait to be hungry again!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ and I NEVER thought I'd say that! 😘😘

It doesn't have to be hard and it doesn't have to be over complicated. It's not always about macros or getting to a gym or lifting heavy. It doesn't have to be about counting calories or hours spent pounding the pavements and excluding every single carbohydrate on the planet. It's not about the number of Reps or the size of the weight or the number of workouts you do in a day. Its not about detoxes or quick fix plans, it's not about having to say no to cake and prosecco. It's not about personal trainers or spending huge amounts of money. Fitness is Not something you pay for, you diet for, or you punish yourself for. You don't need to change who you are to have it or exclude yourself from social occasions to keep it.
There is only one significant thing you need to do, to find your own fitness, whether that's to transform your body, or build your confidence, to be healthier or to feel stronger. And that's ...do a little something every day. If you want to lift heavy weights cool, if you want to go for a walk great! If you want to spend an hour stretching or doing yoga...amazing, you want to do a quick 10min HIIT circuit ... fantastic. So long as you DO it, you can CHOOSE it.

The science and the bodybuilding is great don't get me wrong,...but as someone who has not stepped foot in a gym for the last 2 years and doesn't count calories or macros or workout for longer than 30 mins at a time, I'm here to gently remind you... it's not about a secret formula or following a set of rules or guidelines to the letter. It's about consistency. it's about keeping everything so free and easy and simple that it never becomes a chore. It's about having all the choices, instead of feeling like you have none.

So... Do a little something that makes you sweat or stretch every day and you'll find your fitness ... couple that with some great food choices that balances out the treats...and you'll find your healthy lifestyle...where you go from there is up to you xxx .

The guys @ohhellohair sent me some of their products to try out and having seen their little blue pouches all over my Instagram feed I was keen to give it ago πŸ’™ I'm not a natural blonde (shock horror!) haha so my hair gets really dry at the ends. This product is amazing if you have straw dry hair like me, it's full of natural ingredients to make your hair super healthy and soft with coconut oil, olive fruit oil, apricot oil, argania oil and lavender oil πŸ’†πŸΌ My ends just soaked it all up, and the shampoo and conditioner is brilliant too. As I have oily roots and dry ends, I recommend only using the treatment on the parts of your hair that are dry, so for me that's from the top of my ears, down. I took this picture AFTER a gym session and my hair still looks half decent so it's a thumbs up from me πŸ‘πŸΌ PS it's also Australian made and owned, cruelty free and vegan friendly πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ°πŸŒ

As women, we have forever changing cycles and hormones in our bodies that are constantly moving and processing according to the time of each monthπŸŒ€ Periods and hormones are often a taboo subject but I really like to understand my body and it’s only natural that at certain times of the month you might gain a little more weight than at other periods. For me, the week before my period I always gain about 1kg and its mostly water weight and I always have done. I don’t worry that I need to work out a lot harder to shift this weight it’s just something that I am mindful of and often I have a couple more rest days in that week because I always get super tired and achy. It’s really important to listen to your body and in the few days before you have your period make sure that you drink a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated and not feeling too sluggish. It’s also important to continue to eat healthily and although you might be craving sugary foods, keep your vitamins levels high and you will continue to glow from the inside outπŸ’—

So although I might not be as lean as I was last week it doesn’t mean that I’m giving up, I just understand my body and its needs☺
