I wanted to take a minute to talk about seasonal depression. It is a real thing and for many of us PNW dwellers, it happens every year during this time. Up here in WA, this time of year is pretty much a dark grey cloud when it comes to the weather. Not to mention we only get around 8 hours of day light. For many, we leave for work in the dark, then return home in the dark. believe it or not, so many people are negatively effected by this. As of late, I have been so drawn to Siberian fir and lavender so I decided to read up on the emotional effects. "Emotionally and spiritually, Siberian Fir helps to navigate major life changes, including spiritual changes and evolution. It is said to steady the mind and heart during times of emotional upheaval – a relationship ending, a new job beginning, or a profound shift in consciousness. When your world feels askew, Siberian Fir freshens fortified feelings of grounded balance and strengthens the spirit anew." I have been mixing it with Lavender and it is another great way to love on your oils. "Essential Oil of Lavender is one of the safest and most widely used oils in aromatherapy. lavender is a wonderful oil for depression. It has a steadying influence on the psyche. Lavender’s balancing effect calms uncontrolled emotions, removes indecisiveness and emotional conflict, and helps to bring the feelings under conscious control. It brings a sense of rationality to the conscious mind."
It truly is amazing how quickly this turns my mood when I smell it. combing these two together is truly a match made in heaven. I have been diffusing them, layering them and also taking them internally in a veggie cap! oils for the win!
