Day 11 // Are you ready to sweat? Today we're bringing a BIG sense of purpose to the mat to push us as we're being challenged. And yes, this practice is supposed to challenge you. It's supposed to be hard, but that will make you stronger - body and mind! ⠀

So even if you feel like quitting or straying just modify, take your own pace or rest but DO NOT turn off the video! It's 15 minutes for you to show yourself what you're capable of. 15 minutes to a stronger you! Doesn't matter if you're an absolute beginner or a seasoned yogi there is always something to learn within the challenge. ⠀

And it's not actually 15 minutes of challenge by the way... more like 8-10 because you'll warm up and cool down within that time. So remember that even the most challenging moments are temporary. Take what works for you, leave the rest behind, and bring your purpose with you. See you on your mat! #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

I currently have a sick baby sleeping on me so I'll have to take my before photos later but here are the postures I asked you guys to use to measure how your practice grows throughout the month. Pick 1 (or all 4) of these poses and get on your mat, warm up then snap away! ⠀

More important than how you look in your practice is how you feel. So I asked you to journal or share how you feel in your practice too. It'll be super helpful to look back on! ⠀

Lately, I've been feeling a mix of confidence and overwhelm. I've been working on creating balance between running an online brand and being a mother. I'm waking up stiff, my neck is starting to tense up, and I've had a couple of headaches in the last 2 weeks. I'm feeling otherwise strong and healthy and I'm surprised at the flexibility that I've been able to maintain! But my back twinges when I get up out of a seated position and that, to me, is a warning sign that I need to incorporate more yoga into my day to day life. My daily practice has fallen aside while I try to figure out a rhythm that works for baby and me. So I'm super excited to gain strength, mobility & flexibility while practicing the #monthofyoga with you all! See you on your mat! #30dayyogachallenge

Day 25 // We are kicking asana and taking names for today's challenging power practice the Beach Bod #2. Find gratitude in the challenge because even when things don't come easy, or don't go your way, I'm betting you can find a way that you grew, improved or gain strength. Modify if it serves you but trust that you will gain from the challenge and complete this fun practice. See you there! #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Day 20 // In the midst of all the goal setting, striving and reaching we're slowing it down today to appreciate our practice, self and life exactly as it is, without needing or wanting anything more. This is a yogic principle called Santosha, to be content with the now. To practice Santosha means that you're not only satisfied with everything as it is in the moment, but you have a sense of appreciation and gratitude for everything that brought you here. It's a good practice to stop in your tracks every once in a while, look around and smile. :) #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Day 13 // Today we're practicing another fan favorite while honoring our bodies. I think you've heard me telling you to "take what works for you" and you've seen the modification boxes that I provide in screen. ⠀

But are you ignoring me? Thinking, "Oh she's not talking to me... she's talking to like a beginner or something" noooooo... I'm talking to YOU. ⠀

Your practice will look and feel different every day. Just because you can do half pigeon doesn't mean the modification is 'below' your level of practice. ⠀

Instead of having that mindset, that your practice has levels and you'll only advance if you take the advanced variations, I want you to work on honoring your body and try the different variations. You might just find that a figure 4, supine or up the wall, allows you to get a deeper release in your glute than half pigeon. You might find that resting when you can't catch your breath gives you the endurance that you need to finish the video. You also might find that someday you will NEED the modifications, like if you ever sustain an injury or drop a massive amount of strength (like I did after having my baby) and the modifications are a way for you to tap back into your body. So how would you ever know how to do them, or what they should feel like if you've never practiced them before? ⠀

Honor your body, listen to your body. Push when you're feeling strong, rest when you're feeling strained and try out a modification here or there. Notice how it feels, because it might just be what you need - either in the moment or another time in the future. #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Day 4 // We're easing into our strength building with a nice short and balanced Power Practice. Today I brought my hustle to the mat, and let me tell you, I definitely needed it as I continue to reconnect with my core post-baby! How was your practice? #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Day 18 // Where your attention goes, your energy flows. Today we're focusing on Drishti, the focused gaze that brings balance, stillness and steadyness to our Yoga for Detox practice today and the intention can be used in our life off the mat too! #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Day 6 // I practiced this morning with a baby crawling all over me and as I relaxed into Legs Up The Wall I felt an overwhelming connection to the thousands of you who are joining me on the mat for the #MonthOfYoga. ⠀

I am so grateful to be practicing and posting alongside with you guys throughout the month and browsing the #monthofyoga hashtag for a quick smile each day. It isn't required to post to the hashtag but if you want community, support and accountability please do! ⠀

Day 27 // Trust the timing of your practice, especially in today's 30 minute Deep Hip Opening. It took me multiple times before I was able to do full mermaid comfortably enough to film it for this video. Practice patience and you'll get there much faster than if you rushed and forced. #monthofyoga #30dayyogachallenge

Yesterday I discovered that fitbit has a food journal. Well I knew it had one, but I ignored it till yesterday. Out of curiosity, and as a result of the google I did into plateaus, I decided to spend a week tracking my food. And its really interesting to! I don't think I'd be doing this all the time, but while I get past this plateau it's worth looking into. I'm completely sucked into the micro nutrients, and analysing them. And its fascinated! So far I think my usual weekday habits are spot on, except I think I need to add more fibre to my lunch. So from now on, I'm going back to wraps. They are easier to eat. It will immediately be bump up my fibre content and not effect much else. I also need to balance my fat and protein a bit more. So no more feta cheese, hello egg! Tasty and balanced!
@suzy_jube I got some bliss balls. Nice, but not as fulling as I hoped lol. Had one and I wanted to scoff the whole packet! And there was 12 in the pack. Its ok though, I didn't give in, I had a mandarins instead. I like them but as occasional treats, not everyday.
No formal exercise today, actually taking a rest day - mostly because it was pouring with rain at lunch time so no run. I did my daily yoga and am looking forward to an early bed!

Yoga with miss 3! Nothing really happened today. I was going to go for a run but the weather is appalling, rain or wind sure, I'll run, but I draw the line at hail. So instead I just did my daily yoga. Today was a relaxing back stretch. It might be a coincidence, but I didn't do any yoga last night and I didn't sleep well at all. Be interesting to see how tonight goes.
Start of week 2 tomorrow. Woo hoo!

An intense cardio workout followed by the extra credit abdominal workout that burned. And for extra measure I did a 15 minute balance yoga session too, because nothing completes a workout like a windswept tree pose!
I surprised myself on some of the yoga, my balance was better than I thought it would be. Most of the time. I'm really enjoying bringing this into my daily routine as well. Today though was about balance, and I realised I'm missing my balance atm. I've been so busy congratulating myself on the last 6 months and then looking after myself when I was sick, I went from one extreme to another. I'm now bringing balance back to my journey by reducing my "treats" which increased from once or twice a week to every day, and reintroducing the healthy stuff.
