#watermelonisland#day3 Protein, the most overrated nutrient in mainstream nutrition. We don't need protein, we need amino acids. We make our own protein from the amino acids we consume. If we consume protein, especially animal protein, our bodies have to first break it down into amino acids, then reassimilate to our needs. Most people get more protein than necessary. And excess protein stresses the kidneys and other parts of the body. There are over a hundred nutrients that should be have precedence and an array of nutrients that haven't even been discovered by modern nutritional science. Fruit is the most easily digestible food for us and has just the right amount of amino acids that are available for easy assimilation. So fruit up 💪🏾🍉
Brunch: a fantastic mono meal of my beloved "cosmic nectarines" (I call them that because the pattern on their skin reminds me of the universe 😊). These tiny spots, especially (but not necessarily) when combined with purplish color of the skin, virtually guarantee fantastic nectarines, and so it was in this case as well: they were intensely yellow inside, super juicy, really sweet, and full of the most delightful flavor. Definitely one of my top 10 (or maybe even top 5) fruits!
Sweet and juicy apricot butt 😁 Never take life and yourself too seriously. Go ahead, do something "crazy", feel light as a feather, and laugh, laugh, laugh! On a similar note, whatever your diet, don't be obsessed with food. As much as I delight in my fruitarian meals, there are many things in life more interesting than eating. I normally enjoy two, sometimes three meals per day, aiming to be perfectly satisfied and happy after each of them, and that's it. No complications, no unnecessary snacks (snacking is actually pretty stupid - if you're hungry, have a meal, if you're not, don't eat!), no time wasted on being preoccupied with food ... And, as a fruitarian, I don't waste time on food preparation and cleaning up afterwards either. Live simply, so you can simply live 😊
told my friend yesterday I was going to be making a real effort today to buy vegetables considering I normally eat them all day long but haven't seen many in the last two weeks - i think I've achieved this 😎 (The woman at the counter gave me a look of "who the hell are you" when I bought these at 9am. I should have said "I'm a potato" but I think I said thank you have a nice day) In sum, potatoes rule the world and are excellent brainstorming fuel. #potatostory#health#chips 🥔
