PAUSE // 🏃♀️“Sorry, I can’t make it, I’m too busy. Sorry I’m booked out next week. Two weeks, actually.” 🙋🏻♀️ -
📣 Everyone talks about how busy they are, how busy their kids are, how busy the week is... But now I hear weekends are actually the busiest according to friends with kids. Everyone is busy, from the 5-year old to the retiree.
🙅🏻♀️We wear our busyness as a 🥇badge of honor. It’s as if a fully booked schedule is proof of your value and worth. But at the end of a long day, are you happy? It seems most people are not. - ⚡️So here’s my challenge to you: 💥
👉 Have the courage to stop what you’re doing. Stop the madness, spinning and chaos. Give yourself space to slow down & see the bigger picture. -
1️⃣ “Take a deep breath. Get present in the moment and ask yourself what is important this very second.” ~ GREG McKEOWN -
2️⃣ Let’s stop telling each other how busy we are.
3️⃣ Now for the scary part - spend time every day doing nothing. 😱 You heard that right! Make time 🕒 to do nothing because your brain 🧠 needs a break to simply be and to think 💭. Your body 🧘🏻♀️needs rest and time to replenish and recharge. -
4️⃣ Start with 5-10 minutes of doing nothing today. But what does nothing look 👀 like? 🤷♀️ It means giving your mind a rest and just being:
- ☀️ Sit/ stand outside for 5 minutes (no phone or other people!)
👉 Sit in your office chair and pick a spot outside - focus on that one☝️spot for a few minutes. -
🧘🏻♀️Breathe slowly in for 3 counts and out for 3 counts - do it 10 times. -
Go for a swim 🏊♂️ or a slow, relaxing, aimless 5-10 minute walk.🚶 -
💪If you’re brave... rest, do nothing, and regroup. Center yourself to have the energy to make wiser, healthier decisions.
👊You’ve got this!👍🏻 Let me know how you give your mind and body a rest.
