Having my son has given me a new perspective on a lot of things. One thing that I love seeing is his enthusiasm for any activity that we do. He is excited to eat breakfast every morning, and he is excited to read the same book for the millionth time. Even though our routine is the same, it is like he is doing it for the very first time.

For me, it’s very easy to get caught up in the monotony of working out and life in general. I love having my routine, but at the same time, there are periods where I dread working out. I used to workout every, single day, and if I didn’t, my whole day was ruined. It didn’t take me long to get burned out, and I just couldn’t find the fun in it anymore.

I’ve found that I need a rest day in order to keep that enthusiasm for fitness there. I’ve found what works best for me is a mix of rest and cross training. Then, I look forward more to my running days because it is not something I have to do every day. I also need variation in my running workouts. I love trying a new speed or tempo workout because anytime you do something for the first time it is exciting!

I challenge you to look at something you do in your routine like you would have the first time you did it! I enjoyed my rest day today and just did a little core and stretching to start the morning.

⭐Transformative Tuesday! 🏋️‍♀️

The picture on the left was me on my actual due date 6 months ago. I had just left the gym after walking for miles to help baby girl get ready to come into the world. Fast forward to the picture on the right which is now and 6 months post-partum. It has been a long during and I am still not where I want to be but I don't spend my time focusing on that. I spend my time focusing on the positive and how far I have come. It's all about progress NOT perfection and when it comes to self-love YOU have to be your biggest fan. Keep yourself up lifted and remind yourself how amazing you are and how far you have come in anything that you are working towards in life. 💙

“Mommin” ain’t easy! This week I made a commitment to really work on myself, fitness and diet. I gained 80lbs 🙅🏻‍♀️ with this pregnancy and it’s not easy to come off with just breastfeeding alone. (Yep, that diet plan didn’t work for me). I wasn’t born fit, thin or with curves. My fitness journey always consisted of hard earned work! I intend to do it again, but it will be a little different as I gotta have my side kick with me most of the time. 💁🏻‍♀️ Here’s to My Rosalyn Restart! Cheers! Let’s get it! .

This day did not go as planned.....
Awake since 2am with sick kid....
2:30 husbands office calls yes in the morning
3:00 daughter awake for the bathroom
4 am boy up in pain so we head to the ED
5:30am Back from the ER
5:45 time to workout - no excuses- got to take this time when you can!!

I had every reason to Not do it today but I decided I was so tired that I needed my energy boost from my workout.

I ask because I have come up with 3 do’s for the 3 different workouts I frequent the most.

This may sound like a frivolous conversation but here’s the thing...as a mom, I am always on the run and barely get time to primp to pull myself together. But I’m like everyone else. I don’t want to feel disheveled and sloppy 24/7. And just because priority #1 is my family, I can still have tricks up my sleeve to feel good about myself.

So I ask again, do you have a “do” that gets you in “the mood” (that’s the gym mood), takes little time but makes you feel put together for the gym followed by running errands and driving your mommy taxi around?

Yoga - “The High Pony” for any yoga practice. The high pony tail allows for my hair to be back but also flips up and away, bump free, while I find my zen in our final relaxation pose.

Barre - "The Twisty Mid-Bun" is a done deal within 2-3 minutes and it’s a perfect style for barre since it’s got that ballerina flare.

Dance - The biggest factor for my “Dance Hair” is my mood but music definitely plays a role. If I know I’ve got some latin, sexy tunes in the playlist, flying free is going to win. But let’s be honest here. If I haven’t washed my hair and it’s all kinds of greasy matted down, the hat WINS!
