I never bring my phone or camera with me when I swim out to the mokulua islands or when I stand up paddle there..but here is a bird's eye view from someone else's photo of what it looks like to me. This is in the rain, which never stopped me from going until the shark attack, and Sharktober and the rains can make the water foggy leaving the shark to get curious what my body is....but I still get caught in rain storms that come out of nowhere and the best part is, I cool off and enjoy every darn minute of being out there. My heart is in that area of Oahu. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! #HAWAIILIFE #oahu #lanikaibeach #victoriaarnstein #themokes #mokuluaislands #standppaddle #swimmer

This view gets me Every. Single. Time. ✨

Something about seeing the Mokulua Islands coming into this turn is a FEELING ❤️😊

Light trade winds and sunny skies for yesterday’s morning hike. I want to explore “Da Mokes” islands🏝 next week if weather is nice🤙. #mokuluaislands #bluewater #instaview #mornings #islandliving #placetobe #instabeach #sup #natureseekers #pacificocean #hawaiistagram #viewfromthetop #instatrip #hikes #exploring_shotz #islands #hikingday #morningcoffee #placestogo #travelguide #bluesea #naturegeography

Looking back at old photos from my last visit of the Mokulua Islands in Hawaii, I am reminded of the concept of DUALITY and the beauty in how it plays throughout our everyday experiences—light/shadow, love/hate, yin/yang—it is something that we’ve created in our process to fully understand and experience life. Because we created it, we can INTEGRATE it, merging our dual aspects to BE whole and ONE with ourselves.
What makes this photo meaningful to me is that BOTH Moku Nui and Moku Iki islands are captured in the shot, and the light of the full moon is shining over them. Something always felt missing when one of the islands are cut out of the pictures taken. Commonly known as Twin Islands on Lanikai Beach off the windward coast of Oahu, you just cannot fully experience its wonder with one missing. The same goes for everything else in life. So often we are caught up with the idea that negative experiences are BAD, and we just want to avoid or prevent them from happening. But why label these natural occurrences as bad? Why not just see them as the OTHER side of a positive experience that we are having as part of our process in understanding how life works and how we simply function as human beings?
For many things that are battery operated, they need BOTH a POSITIVE and NEGATIVE charge to work. The same goes for us! We just work that way. So if we just shift our perspective to remove the labels that positive experiences are good and negative ones are bad, imagine how much lighter we could feel in our journey. Imagine how much more gentle we could HEAL. When our Shadow reveals our dark experiences to us, it is not punishment; it is not bad. It is so that we can tend to it, honor the experience, and come out even better than before...a little stronger, a little wiser, a little more loving. We are bound to experience both and we GET to feel both. So let this beautiful full moon shed its illuminating light on all your experiences and see the beauty in it all! Sending all my Aloha and healing energy to support you. ✨🌺🌈🧘🏻‍♀️🙏

Three goals for the winter:
1. Take advantage of the sunshine 🌞
2. Immerse mind + body in salt water at least once a day
💦
3. Do something good for the environment or community every day ♻️

Wish I could sleep in like this little guy 😴

@abhaumprod and I kayaked to Nā Mokulua (The “Mokes”) off the east side of Oahu, which was an adventure in itself. As we were exiting our kayak, a wave came in and knocked the kayak into my knee. I had to sit down for a bit and @abhaumprod was helping to comfort me. Little did we know, we sat down right next to this Hawaiian monk seal pup!

The Hawaiian monk seal is native to Hawaii and is an endangered species so it was really special to get to witness it up close in its natural habitat!
