This is something I believe in firmly. As my children grew up I didn't want them to strive for perfection, I didn't interfere with whatever they were working on. I would help them, but I also allowed them to make mistakes. Making mistakes builds resilience, it creates a keep trying attitude, it shows them it doesn't matter if we fail. We can always try again, we can modify what we do, we can always succeed eventually. Nothing has to be perfect, imperfection is what makes us different, it's where ideas are made and it's where determination, pride and ingenuity come from. Mistakes are great, mistakes help make us who we are.
