LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!!! Tonight I was doing side lunges with 10lb dumbbells - a move so simple I wasn't even recording it. I did 30 seconds to my right no problem, then went down to my left for the first one and got STUCK!! Literally! My whole quad seized up and I had to drop my weights to push myself back up!! Did I quit? NO! Did I pick those weights right back up and try it again? HECK NO!! I paused my workout, tried to walk it off for a minute, told Shawn to listen for me yelling in case I got stuck again, and then tried the move again with no weights. It wasn't until I felt good with those that I tried the weights again, and you can see in my face that by the 3rd one I was done! I finished the workout and used weights for the remaining moves, but took it easy on the first reps to make sure I wasn't going to do anything to injure myself. When your body tells you it needs a break, it's because it needs a break! I started a new #workout program today. I've been doing #yoga, which helps with slowing down my thoughts and my breathing. Today was day 1 of a 3-week program that challenged my mindset from go! It brought up doubts. At one point I doubted I'd finish today's routine. I re-grouped, took a drink of water, and continued on using the #modifier. There's no shame in that! Wowee, LOL I sure got in some awesome cardio this afternoon! Even though I struggled some, I DID NOT quit! I challenged myself with some of the moves then went back to modifying when I needed to. The important thing is that I kept moving and did not give up! I feel amazing, loving this program and Chris is so motivating! 😘💜🙌👊💪
