"I went to Brazil as a volunteer. As soon as I have landed the country my mood changed, I liked it.At first day we went to the institution that we gonna work, there was one more volunteer. She came from Ecuador. We talked about task distribution. We even informed the manager about our planned workshops, afterwards he was surprised and got happy. I was excited too. Finally I wanted to something beneficial. But nothing had gone as planned. The Ecuadorian girl quitted at the third day and said ; "I can not do, I will go back to my country". I was by myself. As there were no more option I planned all workshops again.I carried out dance and art therapy with the children. It really worked, everyone was monitoring the workshops delightedly. But there were still gaps in the program, so I added two hours music lessons. I have nothing to do with music, I even don't know any note, then we sang together. I was in connection with the staff &teachers and manager in the institution. They were all lovely people. That place was in Sao Paulo, in one of the poorest place but nobody neglect to listen music and dance at Friday nights. I worked there as a volunteer therapist but got therapy from them with their warmth and affinity, they just didn't know about that." Nil (Right Side)
“A few years ago I went on an adventure to the other side of the world. I thought that spending a month in Nepal as a medical student would be just like going on a weekend trip to another European city. Yeah, right!
Settling with my host family went well but soon I found myself as if in a void where I didn't know what to do with myself. I kept thinking "Why am I even here?" and felt uninspired after my hospital shifts. Flying home was obviously not an option and I was really frustrated for a while.
The next week I managed to chin up and used couchsurfing for all its worth. •
