Just saying what I feel.
First of all, I love supreme.
And, M. C. Escher is my one of the most favorite artists and mathematicians. He is legendary and his intricate art works are just so initiative and original. He made such a breakthrough to the definition of "art" as beautiful decoration or royal/ religious heavy emotional things. That's how I feel at least from my point of view.
Okay, I don't have much terminology or vocabulary to talk about how great he was. But I love what he created. And his works look so different from rest of drawings and paintings on any art history books. (Of course there are other artists who I love)
Here is a thing. How many of these young kids who wear popular supreme clothings know what they wear is that great artist's works? It's just quality of print on the shirts and how they just cut and pastes each pieces so randomly on tshirts bothers me. I know it might not be necessary for them to know who Escher is. But I can't think of wearing the shirts just because I love Escher too much. Personally, they (all the art works) look awfully put together on a piece of shirts.
I know it is monetary game and most of them buy the clothing because this brand is so popular (I like the brand as well). It is just so sad to see those amazing arts are just pasted and mass produced like cheap scrap book.
I just don't see any quality in the shirts.
If anybody opposed to this, I apologize I like m.c. Escher than Supreme.
