During the Makassar International writers Festival last month where they celebrated the 10th year collaboration between #poet #SapardiDjokoDamono and me, the great poet challenged me to do in music what he did in #poetry : a complete #poem in 140 characters for a tweet. It's rather difficult to do music for twitter, but I proposed the #instagram : I will write 1-minute music (since instagram can only post 1-minute video) , or make a music score of only 1 page.
So last night I was at the swimming pool in my appartment, I saw a full moon, and then googled. Apparently it was the smallest moon of the year 2017, due to its longest distance from the earth. But still it shined so bright. And of course, the Indonesian word for Moonlight is "Tjahaya Purnama", the name of our governor who is now in prison for fighting the corruptors trying to make Jakarta a better place. So, I wrote this piece, "Let The Moon Shine Bright" ... you can squeeze it, you can make it smaller, you can push it further, but you cannot avoid it shining bright. I played this piece during the concert earlier, and some people videotaped it, but I haven't got it. So, for now, I post the score. Everyone is free to play it, for our dear governor @basukibtp and @veronicabtp and for Indonesia to shine brighter. #miwf2017 #classicalmusic #pianomusic
