You literally cannot swing a cat in Newport without hitting a beautiful boat. In the foreground is M/Y Miss Asia, a 62ft Consolidated Speedways classic commuter yacht. These boats were built for the titans of the Industrial Age to commute from their summer homes on Long Island or Watch Hill to their businesses in New York and Boston. She was originally built for Lawrence Fisher, an automobile tycoon, and later owned by John Jacob Astor VI. She underwent an 18 month full restoration in 2014 that preserved 80% of her original fittings, including cedar planking & copper rivets. Behind Miss Asia is S/Y Wild Horses, a 72 ft W Class racing yacht, and next to her is Race Horse, a 37 ft W Class daysailer. So much beauty!
