Trini-Canadian actress Mishael Morgan is best known for her role of Hilary Curtis on the CBS Daytime soap opera, The Young and the Restless.
She has been playing the scheming talk show host on Y&R since 2003.
Last month, however, she said goodbye to the top-rated television show.
Some reports say she left after contract negotiations broke down, others speculate that she may be pregnant.
Born in San Fernando in July 1986, Morgan moved to New York at age five with her parents. The family relocated to Toronto, Canada, and settled in Mississauga. She attended York University in Toronto, and later began her career on television.
From 2008 to 2009, Morgan had a recurring role in the Canadian teen drama series The Best Years, and later was regular cast member of YTV sitcom, Family Biz.
In 2012, she had a recurring role in the CBC Television comedy-drama Republic of Doyle, and also appeared in small roles in films Casino Jack (2010) and Total Recall (2012). Morgan also guest-starred on Supernatural and The Listener. In 2014, she starred in The CW summer comedy series, Backpackers.
In May 2013, Morgan joined the cast of The Young and the Restless, and became a fan favourite.
Earlier this year, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
The following month, Morgan confirmed that she would be leaving the soap after unsuccessful attempts to negotiate for a raise in salary.
Following her last day of shooting for Y&R, the cast and crew took her out for a goodbye party to celebrate her success and toast to future happiness.
Morgan is married to actor Navid Ali.
