Earlier we shared Misal pao made with homemade Misal masala with a promise to share the recipe for the masala.
Note:- •• Roast on low flame & stir continuously.
Heat 1 tsp of oil and roast these ingredients individually- • 2-3 Bay leaves, 10 dry kashmiri red chillies, 1 tbsp shahi jeera( caraway seeds), 4 tbsp coriander seeds, 1 cinnamon stick, white sesame seeds.
Also, oil roast these together- 1.5 tbsp Cloves, 1 tbsp Peppercorns, 5-6 Green Cardamoms, 3 black cardamoms, 3-4 star anise.
Dry roast 6 tbsp of white sesame seeds and 1/2 cup of dessicated coconut, & 1.5 tbsp of Kasuri Methi.
Cool them completely. Now grind all these ingredients together into fine powder while adding 1.5 tsp asafoetida powder, 1.5 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp salt.
You can store this in air-tight container. *you can also add stone flower & cobra's saffron, I didn't get them so couldn't add.
Use this #homemade masala to make spicy and tasty Misal pao. It can also be used in #Bharma Bhindi, #MasalaBhaat, #spicyDaal.
