Mira Rai grew up in a small village in the mountains of Nepal, where going up and down steep slopes while carrying food and water was a part daily life. Sisyphean, perhaps, for some - but not for Mira. She loved the mountains so much she RAN up and down them.
Now, at the age of 28, she's the second fastest female mountain runner in the world and this year's National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. .
So much joy, enthusiasm and inspiration emanating from this girl. Here she is in little ol' Topanga, CA running with some students, teachers and parents from @manzanitaedu ... as well as some goon waving wildly in attempt to convey her enthusiasm for the moment 🤗
