#MindSurfMonday/// The year was 2005 and I was at my peak of Heli assisted snowboarding. Which meant I could evaluate snowpack, specifically spine walls, very quickly and step up to serious lines fast.
We had been holed up in a hotel room for 5 days waiting out the weather.
An unexpected short clearing had us scrambling to the heli pad at first light.
One low angle warm run and then I found myself on top of this line.
The blind rollover still haunts me today. Some lines are not meant to be ridden twice. This is one of them. However @xavierdelerue and a few others have since sent some serious lines on the face.
I ended up naming it “Hotel Room” which may be the worse name I have ever given to a peak.
Two years later I snapped these pics on my way to my first foot powered camping mission 40 miles past the heli boundary.
See the line in one of my favourite films, #91wordsforsnow.
